Every charger is a power supply, but not every power supply is a charger
This is an important distinction that needs to be made when it comes to deciding what type of equipment to invest in for your hangar.
In other words, every charger contains some type of power supply (A rectifier that converts AC power into DC power). A charger also contains other components, such as charge controllers, that enable it to follow a specific charging algorithm to provide continuously regulated power in a way that is optimal to the battery chemistry being used. This ensures peak performance and longevity for the battery.
Power supplies on the other hand are only designed to convert AC to DC. They are suitable for highly sensitive static applications, but will not provide optimal charging conditions if they are used for battery charging.
